Photos left behind in German town highlighted in new WWII exhibit at Ivy Tech | Public Spaces
Ivy Tech Community College -Southwest is hosting an exhibit of WWII pictures in the Bower-Suhrheinrich Visual Arts Center (located at Ivy Tech’s main campus on First Avenue in Evansville).
Bruce Sadler’s father brought back a photo album found in Dachau after the war. The pictures cover areas starting in 1933, the French surrender in 1940 and up through places like Minsk, Rzhev and Belarus. Most of the pictures are those of the Russian Front (also known as the Eastern Front).
The show will run through October 11. Bower-Suhrheinrich Visual Arts Center is open Thursdays 1-6 p.m., Fridays 1-6 p.m., and Saturdays 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
There is no charge to view the photos.
