Family displaced after house fire in Evansville

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE)- An Evansville family seeks shelter in a hotel after fire breaks out in their home.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. Monday at 505 Van Dusen Avenue near Diamond and Stringtown.

Crews tell 14 News the fire was contained to the front of the house in about 20 minutes.

Three people in the house all got out safely and no injuries were reported.

There is smoke damage in the house but no neighboring homes were affected.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
