Police: Spitting on officer, drugs land woman in jail | News
A 32-year-old Evansville woman is accused of drug possession, false reporting and trying to spit on an officer after a traffic accident Tuesday afternoon.
Police were called to an accident scene at Louisiana and Elsas in the Jacobsville area and that’s when an officer says Kristen Campbell told him the other driver had fled the scene. That wasn’t true, police say, and while being arrested for false reporting, an officer says Campbell tried to spit on him. She missed and was taken to Deaconess for treatment of minor injuries from the accident, which police say she caused by running through a stop sign.
A detective assisting with inventory on her vehicle before it was towed says he found meth, marijuana and other pills. Campbell was charged with narcotics possession, battery using bodily waste, driving with a suspended license and false reporting.
She’s in the Vanderburgh County Detention Center.
