St. Jude Dream Home open to public; visitors can register for shopping spree | Home & Garden

The St. Jude Dream Home house, located in Windemere Farms, is now open to the public for free tours.  The house will be open from Noon to 5 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday through August 6.

Visitors to the house can register FREE for a chance to win a $1,500 shopping spree at Evansville Association for the Blind Furniture Showroom. A limited number of $100 tickets for a chance to win the home, constructed by Leosons Inc., will be available during free tours of the house.

Organizers have set a limit of only 6,000 $100 tickets for this year’s giveaway.

Winners of the St. Jude Dream Home house and other prizes will be drawn during a live broadcast on 14 WFIE on Sunday, August 7 at 2:00 p.m. The home is located at 9021 Michael Shane Court. To get to the home, take 41N from the Lloyd Expressway, turn right onto 57, drive 2.2 miles, then make a left into the Windemere Farms Subdivision.  The site is a corner lot on Michael Shane Court, right off the main drive (Beaumont Dr).

The 2011 St. Jude Dream Home goal is to raise $600,000 (a total of 6,000 tickets priced at $100 per ticket) for the hospital between May 6 and August 7.  Aside from the home in Windemere Farms, ticket buyers will have a chance to win one of 11 additional prizes, each with a minimum value of $500. All proceeds from the St. Jude Dream Home® campaign go to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
