St. Peter's Highland hosting sausage supper

St. Peter's Highland will host its 18th annual sausage supper on Saturday, March 3 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the church, located at 7014 Darmstadt Rd.

Adult dinners include 1/2 lb of whole hog sausage plus all you can eat mashed potatoes, sauerkraut, bread, beans, corn and dessert.  Iced tea, coffee and lemonade will be available.

Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for kids 12 and under.  There is an alternate children's meal available.

Tickets are available at the door or by calling 867-5271.  Carry out is available.

The Local Loco Model Railroad Club will be holding a Model Train Show on February 18-19 at the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church. 

This show will feature operating layouts in Lionel O gauge, G, HO, N, Z gauge and Lego trains.

Railroad memorabilia will also be displayed.

Trinity Anglican Church invites the public to attend its Mardi Gras celebration on Saturday, February 18 immediately following its 4:30 p.m. afternoon service.  Headlining the event will be the Best Little Dam Band which got its name from the Locks and Dam located in Newburgh – a  Dixie Land Band who will bring the sounds of New Orleans to the party.

Highlights of the evening will include a dessert bar and souvenirs.  Admission to the event is free.  All age groups are welcome, but children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult.  No alcoholic beverages will be served.

CAPE gets grants to help low income families with utility costs

The Community Action Program of Evansville and Vanderburgh County (CAPE) has recieved an additional $1.1 million in federal and state funding to assist qualified customers in Vanderburgh, Posey and Gibson Counties with their utility costs. 

Household income must be at or below the following for the past 12 months:

One person:  $16,335; Two persons= $22,065; Three persons:  $27,795.

Several required items must be presented to determine eligibility including proof of income, social security cards for all household members, current utility bill and a lease if the applicant rents their housing.

The Koch Family Children’s Museum of Evansville (cMoe) rings in the New Year kid style with a full day of special activities on December 31.  Highlights of the “Happy Noon Year’s Party” include: performances by magician Don Baggett, Millie’s Quarter Carnival, the opening of a new exhibit and of course, the countdown to noon and ball drop.
