Evansville Police were called to two separate convenience stores Thursday night after clerks reported the theft of lottery tickets.
The first incident took place about 9:20 at Chuckles on North Fares Avenue where the clerk stated a man wearing a black hat and black jacket stole two $20 "Lucky Millionaire" tickets. The clerk confronted the suspect who denied the theft and then left on a moped.
A little over two hours later, the cleark at Circle K on North First Ave. said a suspect distracted him, then reached over the counter and stole two $20 scratchers. When the clerk tried to get the tickets back, the bandit ran into the parking lot. He was chased by the clerk and another store patron but ran to the southwest and got away. The theft was recorded by store security cameras.
