North side church collects 630 pairs of shoes for those in need | Community Spirit

Hundreds of pairs of donated shos will soon be on their way to those who need them thanks to members of a local church--and there's still time to help.

Blue Grass Church held a donation drive Sunday and collected 630 pairs that will be sent to Nashville, headquarters for Soles4Soles.  The group's mission is to donate new and gently worn shoes to victims of natural disasters and those living in extreme poverty.

“Overwhelming.  Our congregation’s response to this opportunity to reflect Christ was simply overwhelming,” said Ben Lovell, Director of Student Ministries at Blue Grass Church.
The church will continue to accept donations of new and gently worn shoes through Sunday, July 29.
