Atlas Van Lines opens on-site wellness center | Business

Atlas Van Lines will now be providing healthcare services directly to its employees through the Atlas Wellness Center. The on-site healthcare center is available to all Atlas employees covered under Atlas’ insurance plan, including spouses and dependent children ages 2 and older.

The Atlas Wellness Center will not charge a co-pay fee to employees for use and some generic medications will be provided free of charge. The new wellness center will include a receptionist, two exam rooms and a comfortable waiting area. The electronic management system gives eligible employees an easy online resource to schedule appointments.

“By making it more convenient for employees to see a medical professional at no additional cost to the employee, their spouses and dependents who are covered by our company health insurance, we are removing financial barriers to healthcare and adding the convenience of spending less time away from work for appointments,” said Nancy Priebe, vice president of human resources at Atlas Van Lines. “As we extend our commitment to promoting employee wellness through this new on-site wellness center, our goal is to provide an avenue for employees to maintain healthy lifestyles and take advantage of preventative health measures to ensure their well-being for many years to come.”

Services included at the on-site healthcare center include treatment for common illnesses, chronic illnesses, injuries, minor wound care, minor infections, prescription services, laboratory tests, health education, blood pressure and cholesterol monitoring, among others. Using the wellness center does not replace employees’ medical insurance plans.

The addition of the Atlas Wellness Center is an extension of the company’s longstanding commitment to employee wellness and healthy living. The company’s wellness program provides classes and initiatives that support the physical, home and financial wellness for each employee. Some aspects of the program include access to an on-site fitness center and paved walking track, opportunities to participate in company wellness contests and programs and an Employee Assistance Program that provides confidential resources and educational sessions.
